Cutting a PNG (method one)
I find this method much easier than the second method, which more people tend to use
(I think so anyway.) If you don't like my method of cutting a PSD then feel free to use the second
method that most people use.
In this tutorial, i'll be using this image of Lily Donaldson:
1. Open up your image, and copy and paste it as a new layer in a transparent backgrounded
document.
Your layer pannel should now look something like this:
2. Now select your image layer and zoom in about 2-3 times. (You can zoom in
by selecting the zoom tool:
) [Don't worry too much if your image is blurry
when zoomed in, because it gives you an advantage of cutting a PNG more fine.)
3.Now select the Polygonal Lasso Tool.
Take in note that I've tried EVERY other lasso tool and find that the polygonal lasso tool
gives out the best result after cutting a PSD.
4. Now using the polygonal lasso tool, cut out a little block on your image. To start
going around your image, simply click with your mouse somewhere on your image.
Take in note that the point that you start from, you must end on that very same point.
So you will end up having a shape in the end. (It can be an irregular shape.)
Once you've cut out a little block, press ''delete'' on your keyboard.
After this, you should see some checkers where you
have cut out and deleted the little block. The checkers indicate that the background is transparent.
5. Now just continue cutting out little block, by little block until you have finished
eliminating the whole background of the image.
Here just a few screenshots showing you the process of me cutting out a PNG.
6. Now you're ALMOST done! All you need to do now is save your image as .PNG
(Make sure you save the ''PNG Options'' as None.)
Here's my result:
