Icon Effect Using Texture

BEFORE:

AFTER:

1. Open up your 100x100 image you have cropped/re-sized.
I'll be using this icon base of Mischa Barton:

2. Duplicate the layer once, and name it ''mischa one''
Then duplicate the layer again and name it ''mischa two''
Now set your mischa one layer to screen at 100%
And now set your mischa two layer to soft light at 55%
Your image should now look something like this:

3. Now copy and paste the icon texture below as a new layer. You can name it ''texture'' if you want.
I got this texture from juuichi.

Now set the texture layer on Linear Light at 100%

Heres what my layer pannel now looks like:

4. Now this is optional, but if you want you can erase some parts of of the texture that's covering over your person's face. (In my case, Mischa.)

5. Almost done! All you have to do now, is create a new layer, and fill it with the colour #F30089 and set it on difference at 28%

6. And now if you like, you can add some finishing touches like, text, border, brushes, etc. I just added a 1px border.

Here's my result!
