Icon Effect Three
Turn this:
Into this:
1. Open up your icon base or open up an image, and crop and resize it to 100x100px.
I just downloaded an icon base of Gerard Way from
murder machine.
2. Duplicate your base layer once and set it on soft light at 100%
3. Create a new layer and fill it with the colour #7FD5FE and then set it on soft light
at 32%
4. Create another new layer and fill it with the colour #E699FC and set it on soft light
at 100%
5. Create another new layer and fill it with the colour #4ADC55 and set it on colour dodge
at 29%
Heres what your icon should now look like:
If you just wanted the image colouring effect you can stop here. But if you want the finishing
touches of the icon, proceed to steps 6-8.
6. Now create a new layer (nothing should be on that layer at the moment), and then set it
on screen at 100%
7. Now select your brush tool (
)
and right click (with the brush tool seleccted) and now select the 45px feather brush.
Now using the colour #00FF00 click somewhere on your icon where you want the colour bubble
to be. (it will be the green glowing spot on the icon)
8. Now this is optional, but if you want, you can add some text.
I wrote ''no way!'' because Gerard's last name is ''way.'' Lame joke, I know.
And you're done with the finishing touches!
