Creating a Button

Making a button is actually very easy. In this tutorial, I will teach you how to make a button like this:


1. First, open up your image that you want to use. I'm using this image of Christina:


2. Now, we are going to use the crop tool () to crop the part of the image that is going to be in your button. Try to crop it roughly with the dimensions 88x33. If not, go to image>>image size and try to get as close to the dismensions 88x33.

3. Once you have done that, create a new document with 88x33 pixels, and paste the image that you have cropped or re-sized into this new document. This is so your button will be the accurate size of a common button.
Once you have pasted it in the new 88x33 document, you have literally made a button base. :) This is my button base without effects:


4. Now you can add some image effects, brushes, and borders if you want to. Here's my button base after adding an image effect, and border.


5. Now, all you need to do is add text. People usually have their site name on their button. I used a pixel text for my site name.
